Baked oats went viral for a reason — they genuinely taste like cake. This apple cinnamon version is perfect for colder mornings when you want something warm and comforting. The protein powder does all the heavy lifting on macros.
Ingredients
- 50g rolled oats
- 30g vanilla whey protein powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 large egg
- 80ml semi-skimmed milk
- 1 small apple, cored and diced (approx 100g)
- 10g zero-calorie maple syrup
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan).
- Mix the oats, protein powder, cinnamon, and baking powder in a bowl.
- Add the egg and milk. Stir until combined.
- Fold in most of the diced apple, saving a few pieces for the top.
- Pour into a small oven-safe dish. Top with remaining apple pieces.
- Bake for 22-25 minutes until golden and set in the middle.
- Drizzle with zero-calorie maple syrup and serve warm.
Pro Tip
You can prep these the night before — mix everything, pour into the dish, cover, and refrigerate. In the morning just pop it straight in the oven. Add 5 minutes to the bake time since it's cold.
Nutrition Notes
32g protein from the egg and whey, with slow-release carbs from the oats and apple. The whole thing comes in under 400 calories and genuinely tastes like apple crumble. Sustainable dieting at its finest.
